The two ministers had on March 1 participated in a rally organised by the Hindu Ekta Manch, a fringe right-wing group, to support the accused in the case.
BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi too was fielded by party in the day to distance the saffron outfit from the two ministers in J&K for defending the accused.
BJP leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, Chandra Prakash Ganga and Lal Singh have tendered their resignations from the state cabinet posts.

Media reports said some lawyers of the Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association were obstructing the course of the investigation and demanding the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Sources told Times Now that Chaudhary Lal, one of the ministers who resigned yesterday, had reportedly told Madhav that he had attended the controversial rally on the orders of state BJP President Sat Sharma.
