Motorola has scheduled a launch event on April 19 in Sao Paulo, Brazil in which the company is expected to announce the Moto G6 series of smartphones. Connectivity-wise, you can expect dual-SIM card slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio port. They will all be siblings with the G6 moniker, named Moto G6 Play, Moto G6, and Moto G6 Plus.
The Moto G6 Play meanwhile is rumoured to feature a 5.7-inch HD IPS display, Snapdragon 427 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage, along with a 4000mAh battery. The images showcase the front and back of the device along with some specs shown on the sticker on the display. All three Moto G6 phones are expected to sport full-screen displays. The Moto G6 Play is lowest model as we saw in previous generations. The back panel seems to sport a glass design and the fingerprint sensor could be placed right on the "M" logo at the back.
A Twitter user has shared the renders of all the smartphones in the Moto G6 lineup. The handset has been listed as sporting an octa-core chip with a maximum operating frequency of 1.8GHz which is widely assumed to be Qualcomm's 450, with the same source also re-confirming the existence of a 5.7-inch "Max Vision" display boasting an elongated aspect ratio of 18:9, i.e. 2:1. The phone is expected to be powered by a 1.8GHz octa core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
In the camera department, the reports suggest that the device will come with dual 12MP + 5MP primary camera setup and a 16MP front-facing camera. A recent online listing pegs the G6 at $250 (approx Rs 16,300), while the G6 Play may be priced at $200 (approx Rs 13,000). The phone will likely be powered by a more powerful Snapdragon 630 SoC.
Based on the information that we know so far, the Moto G6 Plus will be the most powerful smartphone in the Moto G6 family. We will know more in the days leading up to the launch event on April 19.
