Kaala has reportedly not been released in any of the theaters in Bangalore yet.
On most online booking platforms, tickets for different shows of Kaala directed by Pa. Ranjith are still available from Friday through Sunday, a big departure from a typical opening of a Rajinikanth film. The response from the public for the advance booking was also not up to the mark, leaving the makers anxious about its prospects at the Tamil Nadu box office. While fans are enjoying the release of the much awaited movie, here's another reason to celebrate.
In Karnataka, the film's release was opposed by some organisations after the southern superstar said the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) on the sharing of the Cauvery river water between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry, has to be set up.
A trade analyst has been quoted in reports admitting that Rajini's last few films haven't done too well. The promos of 'Kaala' haven't established a connect with Hindi audiences.
Meanwhile, theatres in Karnataka are avoiding screening "Kaala", amid protests. Let's not forget, this is the Ramzan week and a sizable chunk of the audience likes to refrain from watching films during this period even if it is Rajini sir's film. Notably, 'Kaala' has to compete with "Jurassic World" of the Steven Spielberg franchise at the same time. As the film premieres worldwide, fans took to their Twitter handle to give their initial review for the film. His fans are excited about the film. Don't be surprised if you find Aamir Khan sitting next to you in one of the theatres. "But we hope they have some great story to be shared which may be liked and the film does well", said Mohan. Besides the original Tamil version, the film has been released across the country and beyond with sub-titles in Hindi, Telugu and English.
