Louisiana native Cormier claimed the promotion's heavyweight crown in the early hours of the morning in the main event of UFC 226, where he locked horns with Stipe Miocic. Lesnar entered the octagon and shoved Cormier, before getting on the mic himself and proclaiming that he intends to take the Heavyweight title from the new champion.
Cormier: Hey Brock, get out of my Octagon. Cormier was victorious in the fight and became the new heavyweight champion in the first round of the fight. Your days are the past, 2010.
In the co-main event, Derrick Lewis defeated Ngannou via unanimous decision in a snoozefest that drew jeers from the crowd in a heavily-anticipated fight.
Now, the big question is when Lesnar will get into the USADA drug-testing pool and the agency as given some insight into the situation.
"We are living in my world now so I dictate the rules", Cormier said. Cormier vs. Lesnar is on, saying "We're definitely going to make that fight". He's a former UFC champion. He then threw the microphone at a nearby camera and walked off.
Rumours of his desire to return to MMA began to surface in the midst of WrestleMania season with many fans assuming Lesnar would lose the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns back in April, but Lesnar retained at WrestleMania 34 and the Greatest Royal Rumble. The bout was changed to a no contest after Lesnar was suspended for one-year by the Nevada Athletic Commission. "His gut told him Stipe was going to win because he felt Cormier put too much weight on for this fight and that was going to affect him, but it didn't". I don't know how far they are in the process, but he's going to pop up on the board [on the USADA website] on Monday or Tuesday.
