Amazon Prime Day 2018: Best deals on Tuesday

If you're not yet a member, Amazon has announced that you can take advantage of the deals through their Amazon Prime 30-day free trial, alternatively, bargain-hunters can sign up for £7.99 a month or £79 for an entire year.
The internet powerhouse ran into some early snags Monday afternoon, as deal-seekers flooding Amazon's servers ended up getting images of dogs along with the words, "Uh-oh". Still, our experience with it has been somewhat unusual as well.
Starting from today 1pm IST, the e-commerce giant will also be hosting six different flash sales during the Prime Day sale proffering customers with up to 10 percent cashback or discount on transaction done by HDFC Bank card/ EMI and Amazon Pay. Hopefully, the website will be able to recover quickly so customers can enjoy the deals without frustration.

Shoppers clicking on many Prime Day links after the 3 p.m. ET launch in the US got only images of dogs - some quite abashed-looking - with the words, "Uh-oh".

While Amazon doesn't disclose sales figures for Prime Day, Deborah Weinswig, CEO of Coresight Research, had estimates it will generate $3.4 billion in sales worldwide, up from an estimated $2.4 billion previous year. The issues this year could easily mean millions in lost sales, according to One Click Retail's founder, Spencer Millerberg. As Telsey Advisory Group's Joseph Feldman notes, the general boost in online traffic "should spill over to some competitors and boost sales on Prime Day", although he admits that "profitability may prove challenging, despite a well-planned counter-promotion". Unions in Spain said most of the company's 2,000 permanent staff there were on a three-day strike on Tuesday.
