NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday aired Omarosa Manigault Newman's recording of her firing by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly in December, and she said that she considers what Kelly said a "threat".
Omarosa "got fired 3 times on the Apprentice".
Trump seemed to suggest she was pretty smart back in 2013.
"When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems", Trump wrote. Kellyanne Conway said on ABC's This Week that "the first time I ever heard Omarosa suggest those terrible things about this president are in this book". In a subsequent interview, she changed her story to say that she had heard Trump utter that word, a reversal that highlighted her not-exactly-sterling level of credibility. In the process, she calmly responded to her former boss calling her "wacky Omarosa" in a series of tweets tearing into her character immediately after she accused him of being a puppet and "dangerous for this nation". She played a tiny snippet of audio reportedly capturing John Kelly's voice from inside the White House Situation Room during the meeting when she was sacked.
Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman revealed new secret recordings on the president Monday after publicly releasing audio from the situation room over the weekend. "What happened?" Trump is heard saying in the clip.
Ms. Manigault Newman explained that as a whistleblower, she is not anxious about any legal ramifications.
Which brings us to her appearance on "Meet The Press", which she was reportedly able to book because she leveraged a tape of audio she clandestinely recorded at the White House.
She branded the president as "racist" and he, in turn, called her a "lowlife" for making the recording.
Indeed, it's likely that Manigault-Newman violated only Situation Room policies, which prohibit cellphones, and other security rules and regulations - not the law.
She alleges that Trump has exhibited signs of a "mental decline that could not be denied" and says she went as far as printing out a study linking Diet Coke consumption to dementia and strokes and putting it in his briefing stack. In it, Kelly argued that there have been "significant integrity issues" that prompted him to fire her. "You leave the room and he probably has a nickname for you", she said. When we had planning meetings and stuff like that I got along with her.
Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman said Sunday that she has personally heard a tape of President Donald Trump using the N-word during filming for NBC's "The Apprentice", a revelation she says "confirmed that he is truly a racist".
In the latest release, President Donald Trump can be heard expressing surprise that she had been been fired from his administration previous year. (She was also removed from a low-level job in the office of then-Vice President Gore and from a job in the Clinton Commerce Department).
Also on "Fox & Friends" Monday, Giuliani defended Trump and said Manigault-Newman's recording of conversations between herself and Trump and Kelly was a violation of national security rules.
