There has been a feeding frenzy in the media this week about President Donald Trump's order removing the national security clearance of former Obama director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan, as well as his announced review to consider removing the national security clearances of others related to the Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele dossier and related Clinton-Democrat scandals.
"I think that Bruce Ohr is a disgrace, with his wife, Nellie".
In an op-ed published by the Washington Post, McRaven, a former Navy SEAL who led US Joint Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2014, not only called Brennan "a man of unparalleled integrity", but volunteered to have his own security clearance revoked in an act of solidarity.
Trump has slammed Ohr as a source for Mueller in his probe into Russian election meddling. The opposition research firm hired former British spy Christopher Steele during the 2016 US presidential campaign to compile the dossier on Trump and his Russian Federation ties.
Given the sad reality that current Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will not mete out justice, as the former is afraid of his shadow and legally castrated and the latter is totally corrupt, it falls upon Freedom Watch and me to get the job done.
"Such a public clarion call certainly makes one wonder what Mr. Trump privately encouraged his advisers to do - and what they actually did - to win the election", Brennan said.
"I've never respected him", Trump said.
Brennan said he believes Trump stripped his security clearance for political reasons and wants to "silence others who might dare to challenge him".
While Trump has repeatedly insisted there was "no collusion", Brennan wrote that the "only questions that remain are whether the collusion that took place constituted criminally liable conspiracy, whether obstruction of justice occurred to cover up any collusion or conspiracy, and how many members of "Trump Incorporated" attempted to defraud the government by laundering and concealing the movement of money into their pockets".
"I know that I've gotten tremendous response from having done that because security clearances are very important to me - very, very important", Trump said in a brief session with reporters on the White House lawn.
The signees included seven former CIA directors, five former CIA deputy directors and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
"I will be introducing an amendment next week to block the President from punishing and intimidating his critics by arbitrarily revoking security clearances", Warner tweeted.
The letter, released Thursday, defends Brennan, whose security clearance was revoked in what critics say was retribution for speaking out against Trump. "Decisions on security clearances should be based on national security and not political views".
"Our signatures below do not necessarily mean that we concur with the opinions expressed by former Director Brennan or the way in which he expressed them", it says.
That directly contradicted a July 2017 statement from Trump Jr. - written with the consultation of the White House - that claimed the meeting had been primarily about adoption.
