"Clearly, if you come on board the campaign, like, we can't have, we got to ..."
In the conversation, held shortly after Manigault Newman was sacked late a year ago, the president's daughter-in-law and top campaign staffer can be heard offering Manigault Newman a job with the Trump 2020 campaign, with the heavily implied stipulation that she would be prohibited from speaking negatively about her time in the White House or the administration going forward.
She has already released several secret audio recordings, including of the meeting in which she was sacked by Kelly.
The taping frenzy story didn't end there.
That report comes from a new Washington Post article published on Friday.
Lara Trump, in a statement made public shortly after the Omarosa tape dropped, confirmed the conversation. The president has ranted on Twitter, his staff members have been forced to defend themselves on cable news and now Trump has sued Omarosa. "We still wanted her on our team because we cared so much about her personally. Picture the word that Donald Trump said", Colbert said, performing a card trick for the magician. It is there she tells us that Chief of Staff John Kelly fired her and where she recorded his comments.
She then leveled a personal charge at Manigault Newman: "Woman to woman, I shared a connection with Omarosa as a friend and a campaign sister, and I am absolutely shocked and saddened by her betrayal and violation on a deeply personal level". She's accused Trump of being racist and suffering from a mental decline.
"I am not going anywhere, I will not be bullied, I am not intimidated", she said. "I didn't know that".
And The Late Show host Stephen Colbert appears so determined to get to the bottom of the matter, he's even employed a bit of magic to refresh the memory of celebrity magician Penn Jilette, who said that he had heard Trump use offensive language during the filming of Celebrity Apprentice. "He is embarrassed by it", was simply her attempt to move the conversation along.
She has stunned America with a book tour the likes of which has never been seen before.
She told CBSon Tuesday that she took these recordings to "protect herself". "Another one of Omarosa's "bombshell" tapes is a fraud". The most incredible thing in the Kelly tape was that Omarosa was willing and able to record something in the Situation Room.
When Trump secured the Presidency, he hired Omarosa as Director of Communications for his administration. The Pierson tape is potentially more problematic, but only in the sense that it seems to add more credibility to the notion that a N-word tape might actually exist. But there's no smoking gun here. The letter raises the prospect of discovery of White House documents. That on-pins-and-needles feeling isn't conducive to getting anything productive done. Omarosa conned the entire Republican Party into believing that she was loyal to the party and would do everything possible to support President Trump's Black America agenda, however, did the opposite.
When will that be?
"Incredibly, this person - who shall remain nameless - picked up the phone".
She said it was a sign of the "corruption" in the Trump White House, in his family and in his campaign.
