Entertainment Weekly debuted the very comics-accurate (see above) image of Larson on Wednesday as the next big thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and the Avengers' best hope of stopping Thanos. We got not just a look at Brie Larson in her superhero costume, but also a bunch of new information and photos from the upcoming movie. Captain Marvel is rumored to be one of, if not the, strongest heroes in the MCU.
Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Now, after having a look at Captain Marvel, we can say things will get even tenser for Captain.
Captain Marvel is the first solo female superhero lead in the MCU, something that's taken 21 movies and over a decade to achieve. Speaking about her character, Larson said, "She can be aggressive, and she can have a temper, and she can be a little invasive and in your face".
"This is not a superhero who's flawless or otherworldly or has some godlike connection", co-director Anna Boden told the outlet. Then there's this human part of her that is flawed but is also the thing that she ends up leading by. Besides the duo, there are a couple of new characters: Kree scientist Dr. Minn-Erva, Carol Danvers' old friend Maria Rambeau, together with mystery character played by Annette Bening. She's amusing, but doesn't always tell good jokes.
"Captain Marvel" lands in theaters everywhere on March 8, 2019. She's amusing, but doesn't always tell good jokes.
The comic book and movie powerhouse has released 10 pictures to EW in the United States, which includes glimpses of Larson as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's strongest superhero, Jude Law as her mentor Mar-Vell, Ben Mendelsohn as the villainous Talos and a two-eyed, de-aged Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
