The German midfielder also voiced his opinion of Emery publicly for the first time, following reports that the two had a fall-out in the lead-up to Arsenal's game against West Ham, which he missed with an illness.
The 28-year-old played 180 minutes for Wales against the Republic of Ireland and Denmark during the recent worldwide break and Emery thinks Ramsey is just feeling the effects of playing too much for his country.
"He has to continue helping with his quality and working hard to continue with the performances we want from him".
"We also need to improve and score more goals individually. We are happy to take the three points".
Following on from the 2-1 victory, Emery insists he works well with Ozil.
"Every competition for me I have respect for and want to do the best for".
However, speaking after the win today, Emery eased those fears after telling reporters he doesn't think Ramsey's injury is anything serious as he feels the player is simply suffering from fatigue.
Newcastle had the better of the first half but could not test keeper Petr Cech often enough to get themselves in front, and they were made to pay within four minutes of the restart when Xhaka curled home a fine free-kick. Mesut Ozil, in particular, played a key role in orchestrating things not only in attack but also in half-spaces, which helped the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette make darting runs into the opposition's defensive lines.
Newcastle were still unable to create anything of note at the other end of the pitch, and Arsenal only grew in confidence with a last-ditch block being required to prevent Henrikh Mkhitaryan from finding the far bottom corner.
The Uruguay global gave Arsenal a objective on the ball, and he soon got them ticking.
Torreira has yet to make his first start for Arsenal but the summer signing gave his team an instant boost as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead within 13 minutes of him coming on.
"In the first half we didn't have the control we wanted but in the second half we were better and this victory is useful for us". We want his performance in each training day and in each match to give us his quality.
"They (Arsenal) certainly deserved the win, they were much the better team in the second half". We didn't concede the transition as easy.
- All 10 of Arsenal's Premier League goals this season (including own goals) have been scored by different players. "I am very happy with Matteo and with Lucas", Emery said.
Emery said of the player's reaction: "It is normal". "It was not a big problem, but he was [too] exhausted to continue". Of course I was looking at what he was doing, even something as simple as just looking at his shooting technique.
Bergkamp starred in north London for nine years between 1995 and 2006, scoring 120 goals and winning three Premier League titles.
