Samsung have just announced their next smartphone which is set to feature a quadruple camera, Face ID and a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. Sitting at the top is an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view.
When compared to the triple-lens setup of the Galaxy A7 (2018), the new Galaxy A9 offers an additional 10MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 2X optical zoom. Then there's a depth sensor which we find on most dual camera smartphones, rated at 5MP along with an f/2.2 aperture to facilitate portrait mode or as Samsung likes to call it, Live Focus. The 5 MP camera comes with depth sensor that lets you take photos with bokeh effect, while also letting you manually adjust the amount of bokeh. Coming to the cameras, the Galaxy A9 (2018) sports a 24MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The new Samsung Galaxy A9 will launch in "selected markets" from November, with Australian pricing and availability yet to be confirmed. The device will launch in the United Kingdom and other select markets in November. The A9 is an overall more powerful phone and likely a good indication of where Samsung's Galaxy flagships will go next.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) was launched at an event in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. Is this practical or just a marketing ploy?
According to earlier reports, the new Galaxy phone will sport a 6.28-inch full HD+ sAMOLED display with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. The image shows the camera setup in detail along with the most minute specifications.
The A9 also boasts a sleek and ergonomic design that fits in one hand with a curved back made of 3D glass for a luxurious comfortable feel, the company said. It comes standard with 128 GB of storage, although buyers have a choice to supplement that with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Both models sport a microSD card slot supporting up to 512GB of additional storage, should 128GB prove not to be enough.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone was launched in October 2018.
The quad camera smartphone carries a price tag of £549. A "long lasting" 3,800mAh battery is fitted.
