On Monday, the Timberwolves will make another attempt at containing James when they host the Los Angeles Lakers. In the first two games this season, he is averaging 14.0 points on 52.2 percent from the field along with 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks. Butler buried five triples, including four in the fourth period.
It was only natural as this is a completely revamped Lakers side with young prospects and experienced veterans spearheaded by James. The four-time MVP had 10 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter after missing his first five shots of the night.
The Lakers haven't been able to keep opponents off the boards - they surrendered 20 offensive rebounds in the 124-120 loss to the Timberwolves. Rose had 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists but missed 12 of 16 shots from the field. We have to guard against that.
The Wolves played without Andrew Wiggins the second straight and he is questionable with a bruised right quadriceps, meaning rookie Josh Okogie would likely start in his place. The Lakers are coming from a 110-106 loss to the Spurs in which they faltered in the fourth. After huge expectations were set for them after the offseason they had, the Lakers have been one of the most disappointing teams this year.
"So we have to get better. We've got to get the ball", he said.
James is not accustomed to losing and had just talked with reporters about making the same mistakes over and over agin.
Ingram came back strong from his four-game suspension with 24 points for the Lakers.
Ingram could return to the starting lineup after Kyle Kuzma averaged 22.7 points in his absence. He has appeared in three games, logging a total of 10 minutes.
Developing chemistry is hard when the Lakers are still constantly toying with lineups, but Hart won't use that as an excuse, saying, "We've got to be ready when our name is called". "This is a process for us, we're going to continue to grow".
"We got another one on Wednesday (against Dallas) on our home floor and we got to be really good".
There's a belief within the Timberwolves that Butler could target specific games to sit out, trying to force a trade, league sources said.
The Lakers cut the deficit to two, but Butler responded with his 3-point dagger over Rondo.
