Bredesen angered Democrats and rabid liberals by announcing that he would have supported Brett Kavanaugh's nomination for the Supreme Court, declaring that there was no evidence to support last-minute sexual assault allegations against him. Channel 3 will have a crew there as results come in from across the state. "I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives", she added. Bredesen was the last Democrat to win a statewide election in Tennessee, and would have been the first Democrat elected to the Senate since Al Gore in 1990. Blackburn's campaign, meanwhile, shelled out about $12 million through mid-October, and outside groups some $31.6 million for her bid.
Blackburn took aim at Bredesen for donating to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and receiving campaign checks from high-profile Democrats.
Republican U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn took on Taylor Swift and won. "This is very humbling, and I will not let you down". The race gained national attention after Bredesen, the state's former governor, received an endorsement from Swift, who was credited by CNN for "turning her Instagram into a get-out-the-vote fan page".

On Tuesday night, she was happy to claim a piece of Tennessee history for women in the Senate. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. "I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent", she wrote.
"These two Tennessee women voted for the candidate who has proven himself to be reasonable and trustworthy", Swift captioned an Instagram photo posing with her mother. She fought for Tennessee values in the legislature and in Congress.
