So consider this the start of our CES 2019 coverage.
Perhaps, coincidentally, as interest in smartphone adoption and mobile feature creep appear to be waning with the average consumer, Samsung and others are heading into this 2019 CES convention with some new takes on tried and true technologies.
South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. will showcase new versatile monitors for another round of contest of its signature quantum-dot technology pitted against archrival LG Electronics Inc.'s organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology for leadership in next-generation display, at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas on January 8. "To keep giving you choices so you can get what you want - beautiful, hardworking devices that inspire you to do more".
Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
The first is the modern, flexible and minimalist "Space Monitor" that allows users to focus exclusively on the screen.
Their latest product, the Space Monitor reaffirms my belief that Samsung can make some spectacular products that are also state-of-the-art. The monitor comes in two models: 27-inch and 32-inch. "When using the stand, Space Monitor can be easily tilted or extended from the wall".
The monitor comes with an integrated arm that clamps to the edge of your desk, freeing up the desk's surface, where a traditional monitor's stand would go.
"This massive 49" curved gaming monitor is stunning to behold.
The arm I bought was a separate third-party attachment and they've been around for some time, but they're not especially easy to install and set up.
As announced in a press release, Samsung is introducing a new monitor called the Space Monitor that's meant to free up space on your desktop.
Supporting an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, Samsung said users can play challenging high-quality games without any delay. Its 49-inch screen is curved (1800R) and the panel used offers a dual QHD resolution (5120×1440) and HDR10 with a peak brightness of 1,000nits. On the topic of connectivity, the CRG9 includes one HDMI port, two Display Ports, USB 3.0 and headphone out. It also offers picture-by-picture functionality and a smaller stand size for efficient space usage. The UR59C is specifically aimed at content creators. The display boasts a 2,500:1 contrast ratio, support for more than 1 billion colors, and a slim design that measures just 6.7millimeters thick.
