The new CLA-Class gets a fresh look and many upgrades inside as well.
Revealed at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, the collaborative device will be a Mercedes-Benz-branded Vívoactive 3 Global Positioning System smartwatch, which will be available globally through Mercedes-Benz dealerships in March this year.
"The new edition of the CLA has been developed further in an intelligent way and is even more emotional and sportier than its predecessor".
The interior is a near-copy of what you find in the new A Class, set to debut imminently in North America.
The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 is a tech-heavy, style-centric sedan with a more potent turbo-4 and the automaker's latest infotainment system. The CLA rides atop the same structure as the A-Class, but offers a swoopier look and more expressive details, such as a more aggressive front bumper and more graceful rear doors that don't end as abruptly as those on the current model.
The world's biggest electronics show was reportedly bowled over by the coupe's new shape, and the level of high-tech gadgetry inside the vehicle.
While the overall vehicle is lower by 2 millimetres, occupants at the front will enjoy 17 millimetres more headroom, while the space in rear headroom only increased by 3 millimetres.
"This is not the only new feature by which the CLA offers a great deal of automotive intelligence".
When it arrives in the USA, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 will be equipped as standard with the automaker's MBUX infotainment system that offers personal assistant features, similar to home smart speaker or smartphone functions. Other functions can be activated with gestures contextually, like extending a hand toward the rearview mirror in the dark to activate reading lights.
In fact, the compact coupé-inspired four-door has also broken the shackles of the A-Class design idiom, no longer sharing its frontal design with the hatch that it's ultimately based on.
The vehicle on display features the familiar turbocharged 2-litre engine with the "250" nomenclature. It uses a four-cylinder petrol engine to produce 225 hp and 350 Nm of torque.
Mercedes-Benz will offer an option for the adaptive suspension system, allowing drivers the choice between comfort or a more uncompromising sporty setting.
This new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe is expected to make its way to India within the 2019-20 financial year, possibly after the launch of the Mercedes A-Class sedan in 2019. As for wheels, the available range starts from standard fit 16-inch units right up to 19-inch models.
Can now drive semi-autonomously for the first time ever.
