As always, there are two games for each of the consoles now supported by PlayStation Plus: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. Lineup for the first half of the year is set but second half is still in flux.
That means maybe we could see Killzone 3, The Order 1886, The Last of Us Remastered or any of the past Uncharted releases included - that would make a lovely start of the year bonus!
As well as all the items listed previously, you'll also be getting stealth murder simulator Hitman: The Complete First Season, and medieval hack-and-slash-athon For Honor, where knights, vikings and ninjas go toe-to-toe in multiplayer melee combat.
Eleven months ago, Sony announced they would be ending the PlayStation Plus titles for PlayStation 3 and Vita. It's got a pretty good combat mechanic, and if you like the game enough, you can grind to unlock characters that have been introduced via its season pass. One of our favourite uses of the PS Plus cloud storage is the ability to upload your game save data from a friend's console to the cloud, so that you can resume playing once you're back with your PS4. Which of these titles will you be downloading?
In a post on ResetEra, Niko Partners' Daniel Ahmad wrote: "Sony also has a couple of unannounced games (already existing IP) with PS4 in mind but I'm conscious that there have been discussions around making them cross gen/next gen titles". Both of these games are compatible with PlayStation 4 too. It's not uncommon for the monthly freebies to offer cross-buy support with PS4 versions of them, giving the current-gen system even more than the two free games that are explicitly intended for it. Gunhouse and Rogue Aces will also be available for the PS Vita, as well as the PlayStation 4.
