The 27-year-old singer walked the red carpet as United States President Donald Trump's controversial border wall, complete with barbed wire on her shoulders, a spiked headpiece and a Make America Great Again (one of his campaign slogans) purse.
Singer Joy Villa attends the 59th GRAMMY Awards at STAPLES Center on February 12, 2017, in Los Angeles, California. He walked the red carpet in a blue jacket that read "Keep America Great" on its front with "Trump" on its back (via THR).
Joy Villa arrives at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
"One in three women who are trying to come to this country illegally are sexually assaulted", Villa continued. It seems that Joy Villa knew that all too well, making a very explicit statement through her outfit choice last night.
"I'm part-Latina, I'm black", Villa said. For the 2018 event, she wore a classic white gown that boasted a baby painted in the bottom left corner and read "Choose Life", which promoted her stance against abortion. I voted for the person who wanted to heavily vet refugees.
"I don't care what anyone thinks".
About her dress, Villa told Fox News that she isn't fazed by any of the hate she receives for her viewpoints, and believes that facts speak for themselves.
"This is what I believe in", Villa told Variety.
Villa wasn't the only star who hit the Grammys dressed in a Trump-inspired look.
Villa's dress was made to look like a border wall with barbed wire and on the back of the dress was a sign that read "build the wall". "I 100% support the wall & our President @realDonaldTrump". In 2015, she again created a stir when she sported a sheer dress of orange netting. "We are here. We're here all around the world, 50 million of us".
Rebel has previously posted photographs of himself outside of the Trump Tower, retweets President Trump, and defended his support of Trump in a 2017 interview. I want to "wow" people. The other candidate wanted a 550 percent increase in Syrian refugees.
