While Borderlands 3 is still many months away, Developer Gearbox is looking to build up the excitement for that sequel by revisiting the past. Alongside the release date, Gearbox has also released a new trailer, which confirms that, at launch, the game will be distributed through the Epic Games Store on PC. It will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC. And now new details give us more faith in this ungodly orgy of firearms.
The game will feature brand new worlds, loads of guns and the new enemies are called the Calypso Twins. Within these four special editions, a $250 collector's edition named Diamond Loot Chest stands out. Also, because it's Borderlands, there will be a Season Pass with 4 extra DLC campaigns.
For the past several years, the team at Gearbox Software has been devoting every ounce of our passion, creativity and love into making Borderlands 3 the biggest, baddest and most ambitious Borderlands adventure we've ever made.
There's a few familiar faces from spin-off narrative adventure game Tales of the Borderlands too. He's holding his hand up in the "blessing" style manner that Jesus is often depicted with, although here the Pyscho is holding up three fingers (because Borderlands 3). In Borderlands 3, you'll be able to toggle separate loot on and off, depending on how you want to play. And to take them down players can choose new classes like mech soldier Moze, Amara and her ghost fists, a hitman who can clone himself, and a robot with pets. It's releasing on September 13 for PS4, Xbox One and PC (exclusively to the Epic Games Stores). Borderlands 3 will then come to additional PC digital storefronts in April 2020.
Borderlands 3 may not support cross-play between the different platforms, but that doesn't mean it's out of the question.
Along with that, more features were revealed via the new gameplay teaser and a blog post from Scott Kester, Art Director at Gearbox.
