After announcing at the start of the episode that Lanre had agreed to leave the villa due to breaking the rules, he was edited from all footage aired on Tuesday night - except for one shot where eagle-eyed viewers spotted his arm.
"I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love island and for anyone wondering I'm all good".
Viewers who tuned into Love Island in the United Kingdom last night eager to find out what villa sin led to Sherif Lanre being kicked off the show were left disappointed. Already, someone's been unceremoniously booted from the villa under mysterious circumstances - 20-year old chef Sherif Lanre.
After entering the villa and instantly dumping Sherif for Callum, she labelled her new match as "old", then rejected several other boys who tried to try it on with her after failing with their first choices, leaving her to declare that she was no one's second best.
His mother Diana has said: "I don't know the real reason yet, but I'm determined to get to the bottom of it".
"I do struggle with being open and honest about how I feel until I categorically know and I was going to pull you for a".
"But I'm his mum, I'm going to think it was a bit unfair".
Following the news of his exit from the show, his family shared a post on Instagram which has since been deleted.
"But he will STILL be appearing on our screens tonight".
He said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa".
"Earlier today, following conversations with the producers, Sherif left the villa".
The Sun adds that producers have hired security to stop the family from speaking out, anxious that the scandal could sink the popular show, which is estimated to be worth £25m a YEAR in advertising revenue.
He continued, "I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside".
