Taylor Swift helped commemorate Pride Month with a surprise appearance at the iconic Stonewall Inn on Friday night.
"I'm so happy I don't have to keep this secret any longer", Ferguson later tweeted. "Taylor Swift, you are a gem". She released her new tune Thursday called "You Need to Calm Down", where she calls out those who attack the LGBTQ community. The Pride celebration also included performances by Sara Bareilles, Vincint, Gavin Creel, Lea DeLaria, Jessica Vosk, and drag queen Jackie Dupree.
AEG, the entertainment company that represents Swift, presented the show and a check for $50,000 to the Stonewall Inn's charity initiative.
During the event, Taylor performed "Shake It Off" and invited Jesse to sing along with her on stage! She released "You Need to Calm Down" on Friday and a music video for the song is to debut on Monday.
The 29-year-old wished the crowd a "happy Pride month", and invited the Broadway and TV star to sing along with her onstage.
