The F**kin Problems performer was detained by the Swedish Prosecution Authority on July 3 after the men allegedly got physical with each other. They rejected the filing, which means Rocky will remain in prison for two weeks.
Following an outcry from celebrities and a Change.org petition with half a million signatures, U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat is pushing for the release of A$AP Rocky, who has been behind bars in Sweden while police investigate a fight involving the rapper. The two young men followed A$AP Rocky and his crew relentlessly and even threw a projectile at the security.
"So every time something happens because I'm Black I gotta stand up?"
"To keep Rocky and his colleagues in jail pending the lengthy trial proceedings is a punishment before the fact, with no due process", the petition argues. "I don't wanna talk about no fucking Ferguson and shit because I don't live over there!"
Rocky shared his own footage of the confrontation to his Instagram, showing one of the men involved hitting Rocky's bodyguard with a pair of headphones and then following them around.
Defence lawyer Henrik Olsson Lilja said that Rocky and his team were going to appeal the ruling, saying that "They were attacked and he made use of self-defence". A source close to Rocky's situation told TMZ that there had been feces hurled about and left uncleaned as well as food not fit for human consumption.
ASAP Rocky has been held in Stockholm since 2 July and is under investigation for assault and battery. If this is a violation of the Vienna Convention, he can not judge. As a result, Rocky has missed multiple tour dates as a result amid allegations that Swedish authorities were preventing him from meeting with American diplomatic officials.
Meanwhile, Rocky's attorney has since responded to reports that Rocky was living in "inhumane conditions" in one of Sweden's detention centers. They were ultimately ordered to be kept in detention during a mandatory two-week investigation.
