It was announced in September 2017 and has already been picked up for two seasons (and a total of 20 episodes) by Apple TV+, the company's new original video subscription service.
The Morning Show promises to "pull back the curtain on early morning TV", but in this first teaser trailer, the only thing lying behind that curtain are some empty hallways and a few tense dialogue exchanges between stars Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and star and executive producer Reese Witherspoon.
"I'm a journalist, I can feel when the world needs me", Carell can be heard saying at one point.
With Apple TV Plus set to launch this fall, the upcoming streaming service has just released the first teaser for The Morning Show, a behind-the-scenes drama of life in front of (and behind) the cameras of a popular morning talk show.
I can guarantee that you are underestimating me. "I'm bringing you some sad and upsetting news". Aniston was on Friends for 10 seasons before it ended its run in 2004. "[We're having] so much fun brainstorming and laughing and sending each other emails". Meanwhile, Witherspoon adds a familiar Southern twinge to her accent as she ponders that the audience "wants to know the person behind the desk".
I feel that people are screaming for an honest conversation.
It seems like there's some drama in the morning show studio!
The series also stars Billy Crudup and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
