Sulli, whose real name is Choi Jin-ri, was reportedly discovered Monday in her home south of Seoul by her manager, who went there because she hadn't answered phone calls for hours. Sulli confessed that she struggled to cope with fame and while speaking on a reality show Jinro Shore, she said, "Even close people left me".
"Her manager visited her home after failing to reach her since their last call the night before", Seongnam police said.
Her management at SM Entertainment said her death had been "very hard to believe and sorrowful", according to The Sun.
Sulli has left our side. "We can not believe the situation now and we are just filled with grief", the statement read. "We express our deep condolences".
Sulli, just four months ago made her solo debut with Goblin, Sailor Moon and Dorothy on the single album Goblin, and had a special stage at SM Town Theatre in Seoul on 29 June.
Sulli debuted as a child actress in 2005 and joined f (x) in 2009.
The singer-actress had more than five million followers on Instagram.
She took a hiatus from the group in 2014 after allegedly receiving online abuse before moving on to pursue a career in acting. In 2018, she revealed on reality TV show Jinri Store that she had suffered panic disorders from a young age.
