On Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised a gathering of military families as they dropped in for cup of coffee and conversations.
"My daughter Aeris is the same age as Archie and we talked about weaning and the children beginning to crawl - she's just a normal mum and it was like talking to a friend", Amy Thompson said.
The 35-year-old prince, a former Army captain, sympathised with the soldiers who work overseas away from their families.
"[Meghan] is nice a conventional mum and it became fancy talking to a buddy".
Archie has delighted royal fans during his first appearance in South Africa.
"I can't imagine what it's like to miss so much, as they change so quickly", the new dad said, per ITV News.
"Meghan promised not to tell anyone that I was off school", Molly said.

While the sweeping calotte style hat, which featured a self-knotted ribbon bow and delicate veiling, was made just for Meghan - in a color to match her wrap coat - the same style is available to buy (in a different shade of blue) for $1,925.
Ms Smith said the visit was a "really special and lovely boost" for the military families.
The majority of the Coldstream Guards are on exercise in Kenya and a large proportion of the Welsh Guards are coming to the end of a long deployment to the Falklands.
Most of the Coldstream Guards are now deployed on exercise in Kenya whilst numerous Welsh Guards are finishing a long deployment far away in to the Falkland Islands. Harry, in full uniform, gave a salute, while Meghan lowered her head out of respect, before they listened to "The Last Post", the famous bugle call played at Commonwealth military funerals and remembrance events.
"It's unbelievably hard", said Harry.
