Microsoft officials have declined to say whether all the H2 releases of Windows 10 feature updates, going forward, will be like 19H2, meaning very minor and basically similar to a cumulative update for the H1 release. With the release of Windows 10 Version 1909, users of voice-activated digital assistants will be able to converse with associated devices from the Windows 10 lock screen.
The update will be less intensive to install than previous feature updates, said Windows, because Microsoft will be reusing servicing technology for customers who have previously installed its May 2019 update.
Provides protections against the Intel® Transactional Synchronization Extensions (Intel® TSX) Transaction Asynchronous Abort vulnerability (CVE-2019-11135). To get there, click the Windows key on your keyboard and type "windows update" into the box that pops up.
Microsoft initially confirmed in an update to the Windows 10 Health Dashboard from August that they were working to fix an issue causing updates to fail to install and displaying "Error 0x80073701" for users who tried to install v1903 updates. Also out today are Microsoft's usual Patch Tuesday updates for other supported versions of Windows. If Windows 10 version 1903 is the installed version, it is listed separately on the page.
"If you see an intcdaud.sys notification or "What needs your attention" notification when trying to update to Windows 10, version 1903, you have an affected Intel Audio Display device driver installed on your machine", said Microsoft in an update acknowledging the issue on the Windows 10 Health Dashboard in May. We invite you to check out the full release notes for more details.
If you are ready to install the update, open your Windows Update settings (Settings Update & Security Windows Update) and select Check for updates.
What about pre-Windows 10 version 1903 systems?
Security updates to Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Input and Composition, Microsoft Edge, Windows Cryptography, Windows Virtualization, Windows Linux, Windows Kernel, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Peripherals, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine. Rather than bombarding Windows 10 users with a ton of new features, the November 2019 Update largely focuses on performance improvements and fixes. Windows 10 Mobile users are also getting a penultimate patch today before the OS finally reaches end of support next month.
