You can see the Facebook footer on the welcome screen and also in the settings menu of the latest WhatsApp beta version. Officially WhatsApp did not reveal any plan towards bringing the Dark Theme to its instant messaging app. Moreover, it is also visible on the Splash Screen.
The users who want to try this new WhatsApp dark mode, first have to enroll for the Android beta program via Google Play. iOS users can sign for WhatsApp beta through Apple TestFlight.
Last month, Facebook launched its new logo that showcases the company's name in all uppercase letters. So now WhatsApp appears to be adopting the Facebook products to feature the rebranding through the new footer. Well, both these features are available in the beta version and will be rolled out to the stable version of the app later. The beta update may cause some issues on users' device since it's meant for testing purposes only and may contain bugs. For some time now they've been hinting at a dark mode that is coming and with the latest update to Beta there are more elements of it present, but not a full dark mode yet. The splash screen, homescreen widget, and chat wallpaper all switch to their dark versions, without any hacks or tricks. Similarly, WhatsApp for iPhone is speculated to include two distinct versions of the Dark Theme, utilizing different shades of black.
One other feature that users have now been desperately waiting for is the dark mode on Android and iOS which is to arrive soon.
WhatsApp has also fixed the bug that crashed the application while listening to voice messages.
