White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham gushed about Trump's health during an interview with Fox News host Jeanine Pirro last night, and Trump tweeted that he used part of the trip to get a head start on his annual physical examination.
Grisham said Trump had taken advantage of "a free weekend here in Washington" to complete portions of his annual physical in anticipation of "a very busy 2020".
Last Sunday, Trump confirmed his recent visit to London next month to attend the NATO Leaders' Meeting to commemorate the alliance's 70th anniversary.
The source said it was possible a small group of doctors involved in Trump's medical exams were notified before Trump arrived at Walter Reed, but said all medical staff at Walter Reed would typically be aware if the President was arriving for a routine medical exam.
It was the president's ninth visit to Walter Reed.
"Seems to be a lot more fun for people/some reporters to speculate & spread irresponsible/dangerous rumors".
Mr Trump met the Queen in June this year as part of a state visit, which included a banquet at Buckingham Palace. At 243 pounds and 6 feet, 3 inches tall, he passed the official threshold for being considered obese, with a Body Mass Index of 30.4.
Trump is seeking his second term as president next year.
Wackrow criticized the White House's explanation, writing on Twitter, "This does not add up; the White House Medical Unit has very comprehensive facilities at the White House complex that could easily accommodate most of what is needed in an annual physical".
Trump and first lady Melania Trump will depart one day before the December 3-4 summit begins, and will leave the U.K.as it closes.
