Four Men Reported Dead After Shooting at Family Gathering in Fresno, California

Four people were killed and six others were wounded in a shooting at a home in Fresno Sunday evening, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Former Fresno PD Chief and current Mayoral candidate Jerry Dyer, in a statement said: "As a citizen of this community and former Police Chief, I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence in our city".
HALL: Well, we know from the police that the gunmen entered the backyard through an unlocked side gate where a group of men in the family were watching the football game. She also urged the Fresno Police Department to step up patrols in the area due to increased violence and said there has been three shooting in the neighborhood in the last week alone.
There have been 11 violent incidents connected to Asian gangs in the city this calendar year, a few of them in November, police said.
The attack took place at the home of the Hmong community.
ALEX HALL, BYLINE: Well, the attack happened at a residence in southeast Fresno just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.
None of the people at the party had any known affiliations with gangs, Hall said, describing the gathering as a "very peaceful, very quiet" family event of about 30 people before the two gunmen showed up.
Choua Vang told the Fresno Bee that his neighbor's house was shot at last week and he feels unsafe outside after dark.
Four people have been killed and six more wounded after "unknown suspects" sneaked into a garden party in California and fired into a crowd.
Five others were taken to the hospital immediately after the shooting with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
"This was a mass casualty shooting there's no doubt about it".
'We are investigating leads and we do have information that possibly some people at this party were involved in a disturbance earlier this week, ' he said.
There were about 35 people at the house for a football watch party when the suspect approached on foot and opened fire, Reid said.
Our Coroner's Office has identified the four men shot and killed at a home on Lamona Ave. on Sunday afternoon. But friends and family say the victims had no such ties and are sensitive to the shootings being dismissed as gang-related or promoting stereotypes. He died the next day.
And on Saturday, police in San Diego said a husband shot and killed his wife and three of their sons before killing himself. The surviving boy, 9, was placed on life support.
