Late a year ago, Jon Favreau set about breaking the minds of Star Wars fans by Instagramming a simple photo from the set of The Mandalorian that seemingly hinted at the return of a minor, but beloved Empire Strikes Back villain. And the virtual reality component that they focus on here is being utilized for The Mandalorian as well.
Other than hiding from the world, napping a lot, growing little white hairs on his head, and being the cutest thing that has ever existed, Baby Yoda has been busy giving people plenty of feelings on the internet, as well as spawning some Jedi-caliber memes for the galaxy to enjoy.
Suddenly there are signs there will be a tantalising appearance from another incredibly powerful member of Yoda's officially "unknown species". Baby Yoda is so disarmingly charming that he makes BB-8, Star Wars' former cute champion, look like a rusty bucket of junk.

The new Baby Yoda is 50 years old in The Mandalorian - still an infant for that race. It's certainly powerful enough to be related to Yoda.

Even at the tender age of 50, (Not) Baby Yoda is strong with the force. Kylo returns in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters on December 20. Despite not being able to heal the Mandalorian earlier in the episode, it's able to lift the rhino-like creature for a substantial period of time.
