It was determined that Rondo made "unsportsmanlike physical contact" with Thunder guard, Dennis Schroder in an incident that occurred with 10:20 remaining in the fourth quarter for which he was assessed a flagrant two foul.
This is also something that Davis never did with the New Orleans Pelicans as in seven seasons there, he made more than three three-pointers just 11 times.
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (23) shoots as Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo (6) defends during the second quarter of their match at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Lakers improved to 13-2 for their best record after 15 games since the 2010-11 season, when they also started 13-2.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 24 and Steven Adams included 22 for the Thunder, who have lost five of six. Schroder made two free tosses, at that point Gilgeous-Alexander's layup tied the game at 109.
Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers, scoring 24 of his 33 points in the second half. James intercepted the inbounds pass and ran out the clock.
While this tactic can work against teams like the Thunder, the Lakers will have to play with more focus and intensity for 48 minutes in the high profile games if they want to continue to rack up W's.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma and Dwight Howard all scored in double figures for the Lakers.
Rondo could be seen arguing and yelling at officials after getting hit with the flagrant and had to be escorted off the court by teammates.
Update: The Grizzlies (5-9) will be completing a four-game homestand that includes a one-point win over the Utah Jazz on November 15 and double-digit losses to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday and Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
