A sub-par Liverpool edged past Crystal Palace 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, with Roberto Firmino scoring a late victor.
It is now 12 games and counting unbeaten this season for Liverpool who have only dropped points when they drew 1-1 with rivals Manchester United.
The result means Liverpool have now been beaten only once in their past 52 Premier League games.
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson names an unchanged side as his team attempt to avoid five successive Liverpool defeats with a packed midfield and Jordan Ayew up top. "Nobody came back with a serious injury or something like that but we still have to look how they are".
Klopp admitted it was a hard afternoon for the Reds, but insisted his side will have games like these in the race for the Premier League title. It's going to take something incredibly special, or lucky, to beat Liverpool in the Premier League this season, and we don't think the Eagles will get the job done.
"We have to be sensible".
The likes of Mo Salah and Joe Gomez are facing a race against time to be fit and if they cannot make themselves available then the manager could have a few selection dilemmas on Saturday. "We have to make a decision". He trained the whole time since he was here, but only the things we wanted him to do. They're going to give as good as they get and while we do believe they'll lose their shape and structure down the stretch, they'll put out a good account of themselves. "You have to wait until the last second to make a decision but nobody came back injured".
However, Klopp has confirmed the defender will be available to face Palace, although he is unsure over a number of his other players including Andrew Robertson (ankle) and Joel Matip (knee).
Shaqiri's return could not be more timely as the Reds start a daunting run of 13 games in 41 days, including the Fifa Club World Cup in Qatar. "If I would have made a decision, I probably wouldn't have told you now, but it's true I have to see the session today." .
