Jonjelyn Savage, Joycelyn's mother, spoke to ABC's Good Morning America on Sunday about why she thinks her daughter was able to speak out after years of silence and defending R. Kelly.
Over the previous year, as singer R Kelly was accused of emotionally abusing women and having sex with underage girls, his two live-in girlfriends came out repeatedly to support him, speaking in his defense on national television and appearing in court, seated on the benches behind him.
At the end of 2016 "I realized I was pregnant with this monster", he wrote.
"Eventually, I ended up getting an abortion I was forced to get the surgery done at his house", she wrote. "Which never seen the day of light, Robert told me so many lies my 19 year old mind believed everyone of one them", she shared. Kelly allegedly would tell Savage that he would make her into the "next Aaliyah".
"Robert would always look at me in a sexual way the first couple of times we met occasionally", she wrote.
"And I would say to those individuals, listen to all the voices of the women who have already told you what happened in this case".
Savage also claimed that Kelly urinated on her multiple times, despite her pleading with him not to.
Kelly has pleaded not guilty to federal charges against him in Chicago and NY, where he is accused of a racketeering scheme to sexually abuse girls.
"When I saw her on stage, nothing about her told me she sing". Or do you want to live a normal life.' Basically trying to make me do what he wants.
Savage wrote, "He would say it exactly like this 'Baby girl you are going to be the next Aaliyah'".
As we talked about earlier, within the first chapter Joycelyn reportedly instructed about her introduction to the singer and the way he promised her to assist her along with her music profession, and that is how she finally obtained a relationship with him.
"If I wasn't getting paid or pursuing my dream, I would've gone home, but all of that didn't stop just yet".
Singer R. Kelly turns to leave after appearing at a hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on September 17, 2019 in Chicago, Ill. "It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert", Steve Greenberg said.
Savage previously defended Kelly against claims of his alleged sexual assault against several other women - but her latest confessions appear to show her singing a different tune. And in a new post on Patreon, she's calling herself a "victim", suggesting she's ready to go all-in against the embattled performer.
Kelly is now incarcerated in a Chicago jail facing charges for sex crimes.
Savage indicated she would be posting more of her account on Patreon, a site that pays contributors based on the number of reader subscriptions, which begin at $3 per month, they attract.
