Disney is taking advantage of the slower Thanksgiving weekend to keep the hype train rolling for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as the studio has debuted a new teaser for the highly-anticipated closure to the Skywalker Saga promising an epic final battle, which can be viewed in the player below!
Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker had also asked for help for the man, tweeting: "Contact @Disney".
On Thursday, Disney's Chairman and CEO Robert Iger publicly addressed their appeal on Twitter: "On this Thanksgiving, we at @Disney are grateful to be able to share #TheRiseOfSkywalker with a patient and his family @RowansHospice. May the force be with you and with us all!" he tweeted.
Speaking on behalf of Rowans Hospice, Lisa Davies, the health care support worker who brought the patient's wish to the attention of the rest of the staff, said: 'I am utterly speechless about what has happened.
He told Press Association: "I just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone that has helped to make this happen".
"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" open December 20 and is set to conclude the nine-movie arc that began with "Star Wars: A New Hope" in 1977.
As they say, May the force be with you!
He added: "During what is a such a terrible situation to be in, you have helped make some wonderful memories and bring some joy to my family".
As shown in the pictures, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker travelled with a man named Jonathan on a laptop over to Hampshire so that the patient could see the film.
The company was able to arrange a special screening for the patient, whose wife described the experience as "truly mind-blowing" after a copy of the movie was sent to the hospice via courier. This is indeed a thoughtful gesture by Disney and Lucas Films for making this die-hard Star Wars fan's dream come true. I still can't believe it.
'From a simple conversation to witnessing the outpouring of generosity has been fantastic.
"The massive Star Wars community has been incredible".
