In a first-of-its-kind in-game live event, an exclusive scene from the movie will be played at Risky Reels, Fortnite's drive-in cinema location.
It reads as follows: "Fortnite Presents: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker exclusive scene premiere LIVE from Risky Reels". It will even feature an appearance (presumably an introduction) from director J.J. Abrams.
According to the posters, the scene will be shown 30 minutes after the "doors open" at 10.30am PST, 1.30pm EST, 6.30pm United Kingdom on Saturday, December 14.
The news was announced via an image on the Fortnite Twitter account, which shows a poster that is appearing in the game now.
You can safely pay a visit to Risky Reels by loading up Fortnite's Creative Mode, which lets you mess around freely on the Battle Royale map. On Friday evening, a select group of Fortnite players was able to see a suspicious gathering of four characters with Epic developer gamertags staring at the Risky Reels screen.
We'll have to wait and see what else comes from this event, but we'll keep you updated with any further news as we draw closer to the Fortnite Star Wars event. For those who do not know, Epic Games has already partnered with the Star Wars franchise in the past. The news arrives via datamines and posters that have recently appeared in-game. Players that purchased the game on the Epic Games store received the Imperial Stormtrooper skin for free.
"The Rise of Skywalker" in theaters December 20.
