Dubois, who went viral after giving a hilarious (and hilariously wrong) answer to a question about Popeye on the Canadian version of "Family Feud", has been awarded $10,000 worth of Popeyes chicken as a condolence prize following the airing of the now-infamous episode.
In a clip rapidly going viral, contestant Eve Dubois stepped up on Thursday night with a chance to advance her family to the next round and a shot at $10,000. A response based on the popular fried chicken restaurant chain.
Popeye, the fictional cartoon character sailor, was the last thing on Dubois' mind.
To be fair, with the amount of media coverage that damn chicken sandwich got, who can fault her?
The audience reaction was a mix of groans and uproarious laughter; the rest of the Dubois family clutched their head in disbelief while one managed an "Oh my God", as the smugness on Eve's face dissolved to one of confusion.
The host immediately put his head on the podium.
Dee then deferred to Logan, from the Tomlin family, to give his answer. Dee turned to the board to see if, by some chance, "Chicken" was the top answer.
I would like to start off by saying that I had no idea that there was a Canada Family Feud.
"Show me chicken!" shouted Dee as Eve realized her mistake - and a big X popped up on the screen.
Dubois, looking slightly embarrassed said she thought the survey was referring to the popular restaurant, "I thought you meant Popeyes chicken!" Only one answer. Whoever gets it, you're playing for $10,000.
Dubois' mother told Global News Canada that her daughter is taking her vial fame in stride.
While Dubois missed out on winning the $10,000, she did win something tasty.
Whoever got the answer right would go on to play for $10,000.
She also graciously accepted Popeyes' offer.
