Now Green Bay heads to San Francisco for the NFC Championship Game, while the Seahawks' season comes to an end.
Lynch, in his third game since coming out of retirement, scored two second-half touchdowns in the Seahawks' 28-23 playoff loss to the Packers on Sunday night, then dispensed some yogi-like wisdom during a characteristically quirky 90-second postgame interview at Lambeau Field.
If the 33-year old Lynch decides to call it a career, he'll finish with 10,413 yards and 85 touchdowns in 12 seasons.
Once the third question was asked about whether Lynch was coming back next year, the running back said "we'll see" before sending a message to young National Football League players looking to secure a financial future once their playing career is over. "He's going to be seeing the blitz, finding the holes in the coverage, knowing the soft spots.' When he's doing that, good luck", said David Bakhtiari, the Packers" stalwart All-Pro left tackle.
Lastly, what maybe could fall into this category is how the game ended up close after Green bay had an 18 point lead at two different times in the second half. The ball was spotted across the first-down marker, allowing the Packers to take a knee on the next three downs to ice the game.
And while Rodgers' final stat line may not seem overly impressive, it was his mental processing and ability in clutch moments that shined brightest.
Marshawn Lynch ran for four touchdowns in three games back with the Seahawks. He signed it and gave it to Rodgers.
"I felt good about my preparation and the performance".
"He is one of my all-time favorite teammates, and I only had to play one year with him", Rodgers said. I'll give him credit, though. A first down by the Packers sealed the game.
Critical receptions by Davante Adams, who finished with 160 receiving yards, extended Green Bay's drive and Seattle's window slowly closed.
But the game wasn't clinched yet.
The controversial first-down spot was reviewed - twice, actually, as the officials said they received additional footage after the initial review - but the replays were inconclusive and the call on the field stood. Just being Marshawn down inside the 5-yard line, he was nails.
The Packers may not have needed Rodgers to be a superhero for the majority of the 2019 season.
