For those users who have already updated to the latest beta version released by WhatsApp and are still unable to find the feature, you may back up all your chat data and reinstall the application if you do not wish to wait further. Microsoft updated OneDrive for iOS with a brand new dark mode feature back in September but didn't say anything about the Android version. This has been spotted by WABetaInfo - the online platform that tracks the changes on the Facebook-owned instant messaging app -in the latest iOS 220.127.116.11 beta version of the app. So if you have been waiting for the Dark Mode on WhatsApp iOS device, then we are glad to tell you that the feature has finally arrived for Apple's ecosystem.
For iPhone users, they can also mimic the dark theme design by enabling the Increase Contrast feature from the phone's Settings app.
However, do keep in mind that that this is a beta update we are talking about. So, when your iPhone switches from light to dark mode as the sun goes down, WhatsApp will automatically follow suit.
The report also hints that this Dark Mode for Android has been released initially as Dark Theme for Android beta users. WhatsApp has also done some extensive work on a raft of Dark Mode-friendly solid colors.
Considering Android's timeline for Dark Mode, it shouldn't be taking much time for developers to roll out the Dark Mode featured update. Afterwards, open WhatsApp again and you can start to use the dark theme. In advanced search mode, users can search for specific message types and look for all kind of media stored on their iPhones. The search results are presented in either list view or grid view, depending on what you choose to see. Lastly, the context menu also makes a return, complete with haptic touch support.
