But the health authorities said earlier that it is uncertain whether the patient is the source of the cluster outbreak.
A sharp fall in new deaths and cases of the coronavirus has been reported in China, but world health officials warn it is too early to make predictions about the outbreak as infections rise elsewhere.
Iran reported a total of 43 infections, with eight deaths - all since Tuesday.
As of 2pm on February 23, South Korea has reported 556 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection.
Half of those are among repatriated passengers from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which was placed under quarantine in Japan. South Korea's president has put the country on its highest alert for infectious diseases and says officials should take "unprecedented, powerful" steps to fight a viral outbreak.
Most are linked to a hospital in the southeastern county of Cheongdo and the church in Daegu, where the first case was reported on Tuesday. Among them, 1,261 said they had symptoms, health officials added.

More than 4,400 people from the list are already self-isolating and the ministry is conducting the first tests on 544 people who said they have respiratory symptoms, Kim said. The majority of the newly-confirmed cases at least 129 cases were traced to be members of the Daegu -based religious group known as "Shincheonji".
The government designated Deagu and Cheongdo as a "special care zone" Friday, while protest rallies were banned in downtown areas of Seoul.

Among the new cases confirmed on Saturday, two were in Busan, while one was on Jeju, a soldier stationed on the island who had come into contact with residents in the Daegu area.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the new outbreak, with Patient 31 having no recent record of overseas travel.
Concerns are rising across Europe.
Cases from the hospital surged near a hundred overnight, with all but two of the new infections from the hospital's psychiatric unit.
