The National Health Commission said that it received reports of 508 new cases and 71 deaths on Monday from 31 provincial-level regions on the mainland, reports Xinhua news agency.
The new coronavirus has infected almost 77,000 people and killed more than 2,500 in China, and spread to numerous other countries.
According to the official reports by China Central Television (CCTV), barely on February 23th, 24 out of 31 provinces except for Hubei province in China had "zero reports" of newly confirmed patients and 8 other provinces including Hubei had 409 newly confirmed patients, with Hubei occupying 398 cases.

However, President Xi, who presided over a high power meeting, said the positive trend in preventing and controlling the epidemic is expanding and economic and social development is rapidly recovering, but the situation in Hubei Province and Wuhan remains "complex and grim as the risk of a rebound of the epidemic in other regions can not be overlooked".
