District Magistrates shall deploy executive magistrates as incident commanders to oversee overall implementation of these measures, the Centre said.
"What the experts are saying is that social distancing is the only option to combat coronavirus".
He had also asked Indians to observe "Janta Curfew", a self-imposed restraint measure by the people to keep themselves and others in the society safe.

Delhi, with a population of nearly 20 million, will seal its land borders from early Monday, and close shops and private sector offices until March 31.

Before Modi's announcement today, officials had warned that people were not obeying government warnings to stay indoors.
