As Google prepares to launch its next Pixel smartphone, one of the division's key figures has left the company. As per a report by 9to5Google, a source has revealed that Google is planning to do the renaming.
At a hardware team all-hands meeting in the fall, ahead of the October launch in New York, Osterloh informed staff about his own misgivings. "He told them he did not agree with some of the decisions made about the phone, according to two people who were present at the meeting".
It seems unusual that the head of hardware was not able to steer hardware decisions to where he was happy and to continue to produce a phone which did not meet his expectations. Most Pixel 4a rumors had settled on that date, so to have one of the original sources of that rumor revise the date deserves a little big of added weight. "The exit, which hasn't been previously reported, follows the departure of Pixel general manager Mario Queiroz, the second top executive to leave the Pixel orbit in less than a year".
The blog has supposedly seen internal files from mobile network Vodafone confirming the change of launch date.
What else would you like to see Google add to the Pixel Buds?
Google hasn't confirmed its launch date yet but it's possible the launch date has been postponed to make sure the new Pixel phone comes with the latest Android version out-of-the-box.The company first came out with the Pixel 3a series in 2019, making its entry into the mid-range segment with a device that was powered by the Snapdragon 675 processor. After many, many leaks around the Pixel 4a giving away everything from the design, to the specs, and even an actual camera review of the phone, we once again have a leak that shows off the phone's design. Even with the poor battery life the Pixel 4 is still an incredible phone - I just wish it would last the day.
