"Both my client and I have felt @miramarpd and the Detective working the case, were accommodating and went out of their way to assure Mr Bakers privacy during this hard time", Cohen's statement further read. "We have affidavits from several witnesses that also dispute the allegations and exculpate our client".
Arrest warrants were issued earlier this week for the Miami natives, who are accused of robbing guests at a party Wednesday night in Miramar.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker surrendered to police Saturday after being charged with robbing people of money and valuables at a cookout he was attending with another National Football League player.
Baker was the first cornerback taken in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Giants trading up to select him No. 30 overall.
Dunbar's attorney, Michael Grieco, posted on Twitter that his client "voluntarily surrendered" while also calling the warrant "bogus".
Baker is facing eight charges in total, four for armed robbery and four for aggravated assault with a firearm.
Dunbar was released with a $100,000 bond - $25,000 apiece for each of his four armed robbery counts - with no access to firearms and with the stipulation he reports to pretrial hearings on the phone.
Police put out a warrant for the players' arrests on Thursday. According to Greico, he's acquired five signed sworn affidavits from witnesses that indicate Dunbar was not involved in the robbery.
Arrest warrants were issued on Thursday for Baker, 22, and Quinton Dunbar, a cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks.
"Now I just hope to repay them in the way I carry myself as a person and as a player", he said.
Miramar police said Dunbar, who plays for the Seattle Seahawks, also turned himself in on what his attorney, Michael Grieco, calls "a bogus arrest warrant based exclusively on uncorroborated witness statements". "We welcome anyone that may want to provide a new statement to come into the police department and do so".
Baker, who has been booked into a Broward County jail, is alleged to have pulled out a semi-automatic weapon after an argument broke out and pointed it at a guest.
"We are aware of the situation".
