Washington, May 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is now holding a 11-point lead over sitting President Donald Trump in this year's race for the White House, according to a poll.
Both Trump and his rival, presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, appear to be stepping up their fundraising despite the coronavirus pandemic, which has hammered the USA economy and disrupted election campaigns. Quinnipiac's April poll had Biden at an 8-point advantage.
"China is on a massive disinformation campaign because they are desperate to have Sleepy Joe Biden win the presidential race", he claimed in a tweet.
39% of voters polled say they would keep Trump in office.
As for what Americans think about reopening the country, three-quarters of voters say the country should reopen slowly, even if it makes the economy worse, while 21% say the country should reopen quickly, even if it makes the spread of the coronavirus worse.
On Wednesday, Trump threatened to withhold unspecified federal funds from MI if the state goes ahead with a plan to mail every registered voter an absentee ballot application, allowing every eligible voter to cast a ballot without the physical risks associated with in-person voting during a public health crisis.
"What does the 11 point Biden lead tell us?"
But spending by Trump's campaign fell to $7.7 million in April from $9.6 million in March, as outlays sank for online advertising and polling. The approval rating on his coronavirus response efforts slipped five points from last month.
Forty-two per cent of voters approve of the job he is doing, while 53 per cent disapprove. Biden has a 28-point lead over Trump with women voters, including an 11-point lead among white women voters.
The Quinnipiac poll surveyed 1,323 self-identified registered voters by phone from May 14 to 18. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points.
