According to WHO-13 in Des Moines, the Strawberry Moon is set to appear in our skies tonight. A penumbral eclipse is a bit hard to distinguish from a normal Full Moon. However, one can even catch it online on Virtual Telescope Project, which will be broadcasting it live from Italy and the feed will start from June 6, 12:30 am.
How to watch June 2020 Lunar Eclipse in Mumbai?
We always see the same side of the moon, because as the moon revolves around the Earth, the moon rotates so that the same side is always facing the Earth.
As a result, some of the sun's light is stopped from reaching the moon. Lunar Eclipse is discernible from a large part of the Earth.
The Old Farmer's Almanac said the full moon will peak at 3:12 p.m. on the East Coast, but it won't be visible until later in the day. According to NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), the name "Strawberry moon" comes from Maine Farmer's Almanac, an annual American periodical. The most awaited annular/ partial Solar Eclipse falls on June 21 of this year, wherein it can be seen from a few places in Northern India. The Earth's shadow is only able to block some of the Sun's light, so only a small part of the Moon is darkened.
A supermoon is when the moon is closer to Earth and hence appears bigger than what it usually does.
Take a break from streaming this weekend to take in a different kind of show: the full moon for the month of June, better known as the Strawberry Moon. A trained eye is sometimes necessary to identify a penumbral lunar eclipse, and the event is not almost so spectacular as a full lunar or solar eclipse, the Farmer's Almanac writes.
More than 2,000 years ago the Ancient Greeks were able to predict the first lunar eclipse by using a primitive form of a computer. A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the umbral region of the Earth's shadow and becomes imperceptible.
