Available in black or white, there are two new sets of LG Tone wireless earbuds on the way, the LG HBS-FN6, £149, and the LG HBS-FN4, £99, with both due on sale in the United Kingdom from 6th July.
The new TONE Free model will arrive in matte Stylish Black and glossy Modern White and begin rolling out in European Union and United States markets starting in July.
In addition to charging the tiny headphones when you're not using them, said case promises "enhanced hygiene" by eliminating 99.9 percent of E. coli and S. aureus from the hypoallergenic silicone ear gel and inner mesh of the HBS-FN6 buds. These earbuds will use a new in-canal design for a more comfortable fit and the seal offers better noise isolation.
LG says it was motivated by studies claiming that earbuds harbor more bacteria than a kitchen cutting board.
The HBS-FN6 feature Meridian Audio technology in collaboration, for what LG claims will deliver "lifelike audio" and "an extra dimension courtesy of Headphone Spatial Processing technology". The charging case adds an additional three charging cycles, extending playback time by 18 hours. LG compares the experience to listening to real loudspeakers, only in earbud form, with immersive clarity. First announced for release in Asia a year ago, they're now coming to the UK, Europe and US. Apart from the improvement in the design and battery life, we have seen a few innovations but one that stands out is LG's invention. Given how companies adjust prices for different markets, though, we'd look for the HBS-FN4 and HBS-FN6 to come in at around $99 and $149.
