Ravalli County Public Health notes that they are experiencing a spike in cases so quickly that it is not being reflected on the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
Wood County now has 61 cases (up from 23), Marathon County has 174 cases (up from 82), and Clark County has 77 cases (up from 51).
West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources officials reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 in the Mountain State Tuesday evening.
41 of the 59 reported cases are now listed as recovered.
Half of the cases today are part of the ongoing trend of younger people catching the disease. Six cases remain active, and two cases have resulted in death from complications related to COVID-19. Melnick said the county needs to see fewer than nine new cases per day to meet the target rate of newly diagnosed cases per 100,000 people in the county over a two-week period. This week already has the second highest number of new cases, falling barely behind the week of March 30, when 31 cases were reported. "Compare that to our cases in early April when 11% of positive cases were in their twenties".
Three children under the age of 13 and a male in his 40s, all from Bureau County, have tested positive for COVID-19. As the weather continues to improve, DHS encourages Wisconsinites to consult guidance on how to participate in summer activities safely, which can be found on the DHS Avoid Illness webpage.
In a release they state that based on the change to testing and confirmation criteria, this case will no longer be considered a positive case.
