The radio personality, 51, broke the news on his morning show that his youngest daughter Aaryn, 19, had been shot on her way to Whataburger.
"I'm so mad right now, I don't know what to do", said Smiley, who hosts the "Rickey Smiley Show Morning Show" and is one of the stars of "DISH Nation". Can't even get to her.
Aaryn Smiley was shot three times in Houston, Rickey Smiley revealed Monday morning.
She also shared an image that appeared to have been taken from a hospital bed.
The comedian posted a tearful video online pleading for an end to gun violence as he packed a bag and prepared to fly to Houston.
Unfortunately, Rickey was not able to see Aaryn when he got to the hospital in Houston due to safety precautions put in place amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. All of the victims happened to be at the intersection on the South Freeway and were, subsequently, collateral damage as they were caught in the crossfire of an alleged road rage incident. "But what an awesome God we serve because I could be standing at the front door of a funeral home, but God blessed us enough for us to be here at the hospital". "She's doing great! Thank you for your prayers!" the radio personality shared on social media.
Aaryn was reportedly celebrating her birthday on Sunday when she was struck.
"The fact that the bullets that went thru (sp) my legs were armored riffle (sp) bullets made to go through anything (how they got through the car) but the one tht (sp) would have hit me in the head was not that kind and ended up lodged in the auto. god".
Smiley announced the shooting on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, saying she had been shot at least twice and possibly three times. "I'm terrified." Stay tuned for more details.
