Mulan has also been removed from this year's release calendar completely.
In the statement released today Cameron explained that, "the pandemic is still preventing us from being allowed to recommence most of our virtual production work on stages in Los Angeles". Additionally, new content from Hollywood has similarly been delayed due to an industry-wide shutdown.
"There is no one more disappointed about this delay than me. That work is just as critical to the films as the live-action work".
At this point, no new films are slated to premiere until next month at the earliest.
Other planned Disney releases are also seeing delays, such as The New Mutants film, in the X-Men franchise - now slated for the end of August - along with a David Copperfield movie.
