Rockstar Games' online communities for Red Dead Redemption 2and Grand Theft Auto 5 - Red Dead Online and GTA Online, respectively - will receive major updates this summer, according to a news release from the company. Musical instruments for Red Dead Online and the ability to run businesse via the Master Control Terminal in GTA Online are also in the offing, as well as measures to address cheaters, modders, hackers, and players seeking to harass other players.
The RDR2 Update 1.20 should be extremely comprehensive, there will be a new criminal pass and new content will be added.
Rockstar announced the updates today via a post on its official blog. The summer update for GTA Online, meanwhile, promises "a fun mix of diverse new content from the game's massive array of experiences to enjoy".
Details for Red Dead Online are concrete, but GTA Online's summer update is a little more vague.
The last Red Dead Online Update was in March2020 The RDR2 Update 1.19 just brought bug fixes and enhancements. The next update for Read Dead Online is set to drop this January 28 and Rockstar calls it a "massive" update.
The Rockstar team even promises that there will be "much more to play and discover in the months to come".
Rockstar promises that while you might not see your requested feature in this new update, it could very well be coming soon over the next few weeks or months.
More updates are planned for both games following the upcoming updates, including "the biggest ever" update for GTA Online with a new Heists location.
"So far this year, we have taken action on hundreds of thousands of players caught violating community rules across both games".
All of this is available in GTA Online until 29th July.
