"It is a gross interference in China's internal affairs", the embassy said in statement.

The U.S., according to the BBC, also has signaled that it plans to suspend its extradition treaty with Hong Kong.
But Wang accused the countries of having used the national security law as "an excuse to unilaterally announce the suspension of extradition treaties" with the region.
"They say they want to establish a Hong Kong republic, and that they will unreservedly fight for it", said Supt. Li.
"The New Zealand government's decision is a serious violation of worldwide law and basic norms governing global relations", the embassy said in a statement.
The UK and others fear the new arrangement could see anyone extradited to Hong Kong from their territory being subsequently sent on to China.
Hong Kong's national security law has been criticized for threatening the former British colony's special autonomous status from mainland China.
Chan, an adviser to Chief Executive Carrie Lam, is also one of Hong Kong's deputies to the National People's Congress, China's legislative body.
